Read Along Script for the “Wordless Message”

– We all want to live a good moral life. (Romans 7:18-25)

– The problem is … fears, heartaches, and bad decisions prevent us from being who we want to be. (Romans 3:23)

– This causes our heart to feel sick and full of sin. (Romans 1:20-22)

– There is a solution to this heart sickness and it is found in the Holy Bible. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

– God created the earth and everything in it: water, plants, and soil … out of nothing. (Genesis 1:1-13)

– He also created the sun, moon, and stars. (Genesis 1:14-19)

– He filled the earth with living creatures in the sky, on land, and under the sea. (Genesis 1:20-25)

– He also created a man and a woman. He named them Adam and Eve. (Genesis 1:26-27)

– God blessed Adam and Eve and gave them everything He created for their enjoyment and care. (Genesis 1:28-31)

– But for Adam and Eve to show God how much they loved him, He told them to not eat fruit from a certain tree. (Genesis 2:15-17)

– A fallen angel named Satan spoke to Eve through a serpent and tricked her into eating the forbidden fruit. (Genesis 3:1-6)

– She convinced Adam to do the same. (Genesis 1:6)

– They were immediately filled with shame, for they disobeyed what God told them to do. (Genesis 3:7)

– They covered themselves because they were embarrassed to be naked, but they couldn’t hide their darkened hearts. (Genesis 3:7)

– The consequence for disobeying God was they had to leave the beautiful garden God had made just for them. (Genesis 3:23-24)

– As a result life would be difficult for them and the darkness in their heart would pass from them to their kids, and their kids’ kids. (Romans 5:19)

– There would be no end to the sin that was started. Everyone on earth from then on would struggle with selfishness, hate, lust, envy, and all sorts of bad decisions. (Isaiah 64:6)

– The earth literally became cursed with sin. (Isaiah 24:5-6)

– But God didn’t abandon his creation. He had a solution to save us. (Jeremiah 29:11)

– He became a human being in the form of His own Son. (John 1:14)

– He was born in humble circumstances. (Philippians 2:5-11)

– He grew up on earth just like every other person. (Luke 2:52)

– He eventually became a fully-grown man ready to serve his Father in Heaven. (Mark 10:45)

– At the start of His service, He symbolically washed himself clean and God’s Spirit descended upon Him like a dove. (Matthew 3:13-17)

– His name is Jesus, which means, “God Saves!” (Luke 1:31)

– People everywhere began turning to Jesus as he carries God’s Spirit in His heart. (Luke 19:37-38)

– To authenticate who he was, Jesus began healing people, mending their wounds. (Luke 4:18-19)

– He healed their broken hearts with His own heart. (Matthew 11:28-30)

– He healed relationships as people began allowing Jesus’ heart to become their heart. (Galatians 6:2)

– But not everyone turned to Jesus. Some preferred hanging onto their own darkened heart instead. (Luke 23:10)

– Not only that, they encouraged other people, who preferred hanging onto their own darkened heart as well, to turn against Jesus. (Luke 23:18-21)

– They decided to kill Jesus by nailing Him to a wooden cross. (John 19:17-18)

– Even though He was sinless, God put the sin of the world on Jesus and let Him die as punishment for us. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

– Then some friends buried Jesus in a tomb. (John 19:38-42)

– He was buried for three days. (Matthew 12:40)

– On the third day, God opened the tomb and raised Jesus from the dead. (John 20:1-18)

– With the Spirit of God in His heart, Jesus showed himself to the world. (John 20:21-23)

– He gave His Spirit to us to pass on to others. (John 16:13-14)

– Jesus went up into Heaven where He sits on a throne and prepares a place for us. (Matthew 19:28)

– Now each of us has a decision to make. (John 3:18)

– We need to realize we all have darkened hearts we cannot fix by ourselves. (Jeremiah 17:9)

– That’s why Jesus willingly died for us on a cross. (1 Peter 3:18)

– He was buried and then God raised Him from the dead. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)

– Knowing this now means we need place our trust in Jesus to come inside our hearts and save us from our sins. (Titus 3:5)

– When He does this we will live with Him for all eternity. (John 3:36)

– We can now pass Jesus’ heart on to others. (Matthew 28:19-20)

– So what about you? Will you turn your heart to Jesus and trust Him to come live inside of you? (Acts 16:31-32)
