REGARDING RIGHTS AND PERMISSIONS …

Can I use CartoonWorks.com materials for my ministry and/or personal use without asking for permission?

Yes, with one exception. This blanket permission applies to all of Ron’s work except his Bible Story Animations. The publishers of those animations are still selling them either as downloads or by DVD. There are permission restrictions listed for each Bible Story Animation.

Besides the Bible Story Animations, are there any permission restrictions for using the rest of the materials at CartoonWorks.com?

Yes, our general permission statement covering the entire CartoonWorks.com website (including items for purchase, free items, and subscriptions) is … “For ministry or personal purposes only. Contact us regarding commercial usage permission.”

What constitutes “commercial usage?”

Any usage where CartoonWorks materials will be used to help generate revenue for the purchaser, either through sales or donations is considered to be commercial usage.

Can I use Ron’s cartoons for commercial purposes?

That depends. We would hate for someone to use Ron’s work to promote an abortion clinic, for example. Also, there are some occasions where someone who commissioned Ron to do a drawing wouldn’t mind letting people use that drawing for ministry or personal use as long as it wasn’t used on a competitor’s materials. For example, an image of someone playing a violin might have originally been created for a music book cover. It wouldn’t be right if a competing music publisher used that same image on the cover of one of their books as well. Commercial usage needs to be monitored by us on a case-by-case basis.

If I want to use CartoonWorks materials for commercial purposes, how do I obtain that permission?

Send us a note through the Contact page. We will work with you to grant you permission. Extra fees on a case-by-case basis may apply. There is a big difference between using one of Ron’s images as a company logo, versus including it in the back of a missionary’s fund raising newsletter.

I would like to use Ron’s cartoons for a book I’m writing. Do I need special permission?

Yes, special permission is needed to use Ron’s cartoons for a book or any other publication you are writing that is intended for resale or fundraising purposes. You can reach us at our Contact page.

If I create a book with Ron’s drawings, can CartoonWorks.com sell it on their website?

If you have made arrangements with Ron to use his artwork in your book, it is possible for CartoonWorks to sell your book on their website. You can reach us at our Contact page.

Is CartoonWorks.com willing to have cooperative affiliate relationships with other ministries and publishers?

Yes. If you would like to talk to us about that, you may reach us through our Contact page.

REGARDING USING CARTOONWORKS.COM ...

I love Ron’s work, but how do I use it in my ministry?

More and more churches, Christian schools, children’s and youth ministries, and even home school families are printing their own curriculum and other materials. Ron’s drawings from his Image Vault work well with all Adobe software products and other software products as well. These images are great for dressing up digital as well as print materials. Many of Ron’s Comic Strips and Coloring Pages can be downloaded and printed directly from your own computer. If you are in a hurry, or you are doing ministry overseas, you can even directly print Ron’s Cartoon Tracts on your own printer also.

Is some of Ron’s work organized into groups such as curriculum materials or special holiday packages?

With our robust Search Bar in the Image Vault, Coloring Pages, Cartoons, Puzzles and Games, etc. you can easily put together material based on whatever theme you want to teach or promote. Try typing in a few keywords or scroll through the categories list and see what comes up.

I love all this, but there is so much here, how do I learn what is available and how to use it?

In Ron’s Periodicals Blog Post Ron will highlight various parts of his work and explain to you how it can be useful to your ministry. When you set up your account you will be given the opportunity to receive this blog on a regular basis. Or you can simply visit CartoonWorks.com occasionally to read his latest blog. Past blogs are always saved, so you can easily find Ron’s previous posts related to your areas of interest.

That sounds great, but I think I may want more. What does the future hold?

Future areas of development include: 1) we will be producing specialized product packages for specific audiences for specific purposes … and, 2) we will be sending out regular email newsletters that will highlight various products and describe how you can use them to enhance your ministry … 3) more content will continually be added on a regular basis.

Can I get paper samples of some of Ron’s work?

All of the work from CartoonWorks.com is digital. Any printed material, such as cartoon tracts or children’s books, come from third party vendors. For example, currently paper versions of Ron’s tracts are printed and shipped from Moments With The Book. You would need to contact them regarding obtaining samples.

REGARDING MISCELLANEOUS ISSUES …

Don’t cartoons trivialize the Christian message?

In some circles, yes. But more and more, people are realizing cartoons and humor art can make any message more appealing and augment any ministry effort. Ron has been clearly called by God to create cartoons to be a communication vehicle for spreading God’s Truths (see Ron’s testimony, history, and endorsements in the About Us section). God has clearly blessed Ron in this calling. But more importantly, God has glorified His Name and blessed millions of people over the years with the gifts he has given Ron.

Do you carry the work of any other cartoonists?

No. CartoonWorks.com is exclusively dedicated to the display and promotion of Ron Wheeler’s work for the sake of furthering God’s Kingdom.

There was a mistake in my order. Who do I contact?

Does Ron draw custom cartoons for people? How much does he charge?

Ron has never stopped drawing custom cartoons for individuals, ministries, publishers, etc. Prices vary considerably. Variables include the drawing complexity, what the drawing will be used for, and what kind of rights you are purchasing. Go to our Contact page to reach Ron and learn what he has charged before for similar work.

Where can I see the full scope of Ron’s work?

Visit Ron’s Portfolio Wild, Portfolio Mild, and Portfolio Images for everything you need to know.

Does Ron give private cartooning lessons? Does he teach any classes?

Since Ron has to remain focused on creating as much content as possible while God has given him this time on earth, unfortunately he is not able to accommodate any requests for teaching individuals or classes. We suggest you purchase his Learn To Draw videos which will help you learn everything Ron has to share.

Does Ron give speaking engagements? If so, how much does he charge?

Yes, as long as it fits into his schedule and he can speak freely about his faith in Christ. That is not because he is heavy handed regarding evangelism, it is because he cannot share from his heart without including the role God has played in the development of his work and ministry. Fees are flexible depending on time and travel. You can reach him at our Contact page.

Does Ron give interviews?

Yes, Ron has given several interviews (print and radio/TV broadcast) over the years. You can reach him at our Contact page.

Will Ron look at my cartoons/drawings and offer me some advice?

Due to Ron’s busy schedule Ron is rarely able to do this anymore. However, you are always welcome to reach him at our Contact page to discuss your needs. You can also gain much regarding Ron’s perspectives by watching some of Ron’s Learn To Draw videos.
